A tree sends down a golden leaf
Which drifts down to the ground
Joining the layers of other leaves
With a gentle, sighing sound
Suddenly there comes about
A most disturbing bustle
And there appears a little mouse
All eagerness and hustle
Just for a moment he is still
He twitches with his nose
Then with a flick of his long tail
Dives beneath the leaves and goes
