Silence Poem by Patricia Denise Newman

Silence

Rating: 5.0

'Silence is Golden' the old wise man said
'Why' asked the little boy, tucked up warm in bed.
'I think it's boring' his little sister cried,
as she lay there in crumpled heap with Teddy by her side.
'With silence comes the dream team' the wise old man replied,
'to send you out adventuring on a wonderful carpet ride.
'In silence you can listen, as stories you are told
begin to weave their magic as the characters unfold.
In silence your imagination has a chance to be set free,
to roam the realms of make-believe and fearful fantasy.
In silence you learn many things as lessons you are taught
begin to make some sense, at last, of scientific thought.
In silence pearls of wisdom are dropped into your ear,
you only need to listen, to understand all that you hear.'

Indeed silence is necessary to understand life. We learn more when we hear and observe. Thanks for sharing!
