The Lessons Of My Parents Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

The Lessons Of My Parents

The Lessons of my Parents,
Who bore and did raise me,
Are set out in this poem,
For you all to see.

‘Be always true to yourself ’
Was the first lesson they taught me,
For if you are not, how can you expect,
Others to respect thee?

Keep your Faith and Religion,
Whichever one that is,
For The Almighty us did create,
To fill the World and it populate.

Show allegiance to the Rulers
In the Country you choose to live.
Keep their Laws and Regulations,
So amongst people harmony’ll survive.

Remember with love and affection
The Place where you were born,
May it always remain in your heart,
And be spoken of, without scorn.
