The Liar's Repent Poem by Randy McClave

The Liar's Repent

Rating: 3.0

They say that when a liar is dying
They remember all of their sins and lying,
And all of the lies that they ever spoke
Upon those same words they will choke.
They will cough up every lie that they ever said
Which to mistrust and then hate it ultimately led,
And while they are crying and coughing
The Devil and his demons are dancing and scoffing.
When we lie we do the Devil's deed
His contempt and his joy is then freed,
And when lies are used to hurt the innocent
The liar can't and won't ever repent.
A liar will remember every lie that they spoke forever
That was ever used to trick, hurt or sever,
And it will stay locked away in their brain
And it will become an unforgiving and everlasting pain.
Every lie that a cheater does tell
They place another stepping stone for their path to Hell,
And to the lost souls that believed in their lies;
An Angel sighs.
A lie becomes a seed in the soul that is planted
Life through sin and deception it is then granted,
That seed will then grow into a tree of many leaves
And each leaf is a lie that the soul grieves.
A liar just has to speak, but only one lie
To which they'll never ask for forgiveness or deny,
And as they are laying in their shame crying
They are now seeking forgiveness,as they are dying.

Lying is bad but even presidents and clergy lie. will have a lot of fodder to burn perpetually

I really enjoyed your poem about lying, Randy, but it made me wonder if you've never lied? ? ? ? I think my head must be full of those little lies I have told over the years not to hurt another person's feelings or to justify this or that. We all lie, occasionally! Good write.
