The life of this world, a fleeting rain,
From heavens it falls, and stirs the plain.
With earth it mingles, and fruits arise,
Sustenance blooms 'neath the open skies.
The soil is clad in a golden hue,
Adorned with splendor, a wondrous view.
Its keepers rejoice, their hearts take pride,
As if all power in them resides.
But lo! By night, or the break of day,
The command of Allah descends,
and sweeps it away, when he wills to punish
Like a harvest shorn, so swift, so bare,
As though it had never flourished there.
Allah in Qur'an reveals these Signs profound,
For those who ponder, truth is found.
