The Light At The End Of The Tunnel Poem by shreya sharma

The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

I reached out for her, my fingers stretching;
She was yelling out my name; yelping.
I rushed towards her, the blood rushed to my face.
I thought I wouldn't be able to reach her
& hoped that wouldn't be the case....

I ran & ran in all desperation;
My mind reeling, looking for some source of inspiration.
Her screaming & screeching. Oh! my ears bled
I sprinted on a path, knowing not where it lead...

She screamed in pain or in agony, i knew not.
But tragic would be the end i thought.
Suddenly, a presence so pure,
made me feel of myself so sure...

A hand took mine in his,
all anxiety lifted and it felt like eternal bliss.
He led me through the scary pathways, through the darkness and its layers.
I could hear his lips move in silent prayers.

I reached her now, the screaming ceased.
I looked around to thank, who from this trouble had me released.
Nowhere to be found, was that angel.
Maybe he was meant only to lead me, to the light at the end of the tunnel...

Speed, pain and mystery make the writing easy to read. 'He' is a trance perhaps, it could be a 'She' to a male writer. Thank you. Run fast and long. Regards, pranab
