The Lion Poem by Leanna Page Markgraf

The Lion

I have been broken, trapped
felt caged behind a door.
They can try to quiet me,
But they can never silence my roar.
When I had to defend myself
I could no longer keep the beast inside;
that courage led to strength,
I will wear my scars with pride.
Now no one can tame me
or try to darken my light.
I am more than willing
to stand my ground & fight.
I will be strong and fearless
I can make it on my own.
The sheep flocks together
while the lion walks alone.
