The Long Wait Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

The Long Wait

She waits for the tide to turn
She waits for the night to end
She has been waiting all her life

Days come and days go
She stopped counting long ago
Dreams no longer bother her

Her faith has come full circle
She no longer gives it a thought
She no longer bothers God

She no longer understands
What she has been waiting for
It has become a mystery to her
