O! Moon! I am envious of you I say honestly,
Why everybody spelled by your charm so readily.
Uncrowned monarch of night sky you walk in heaven,
Millions of twinkling stars are your courtiers proven.
Wane and wax to live many lives like an immortal,
Move with the same youth and splendor to revel.
You always find a place in the poetic verse mostly,
The true symbol to depict a maiden's visage lovely.
Your beauty is not spotless, your heart cries too,
In the cold starless nights you shed tears in dew.
Melancholic you look at times and sometime shy,
Even than you come along beautiful things to vie.
The ocean leaps up to receive your celestial embrace,
All his tries go in vain but dash to shore's rocky face.
The eyes of quail gets glued to your captivating entity,
Never knew that it is an illusion in the guise of reality.
Still mend the hearts of desperate lovers with hope,
Shine on them to allay their agony, not able to cope.
You fade in the light of the day but resurrect in dark,
To send beams of lustrous light to ignite lively spark.
Eons gone and ages to come, silver surfer you will be,
Inspiration of poets and lovers for ever and ever to be.
