The Making Of A Woman, Who Made You A Woman? Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

The Making Of A Woman, Who Made You A Woman?

Who dressed you so,
Made you up for to look as thus
With a bindi spot on the forehead,
Collyrium into the eyes,
Face powder and cream applied on the cheeks,
Lipstick touches on the lips,
Ribbons into the hair,
Flowers stuck into the braid,
Perfume sprayed upon,
Jewels and ornaments decorating you up
For to be a woman
Otherwise had you not been,
Wore you the sari, the blouse
And the bangles
To look like a woman shy and coy,
Now are you not the woman I am looking for?
