Lilibeth Sacmar Apat

The Meeting

I saw him walk down the aisle
But never minded him, quite
Next thing I know he was right beside me
Still no sparks erupted, just one rough day for me.

I saw the rosary in his pocket
I opened my Bible, the reason I won’t tell
And after the first question he uttered
Our good conversation started.

I liked the way he talked
He was so relaxing and comfortable to be with
I liked the sound of his laughter, too
Soothes my senses with its sincerity.

I enjoyed looking at his face
He was handsome and serene in his white shirt
Even the streaks of white in his hair
Added to his attractiveness.

Another meeting is too remote, I know
He was a seminarian on the bus with me, so,
Just another passenger, no more no less
But I have a problem: I can’t take my mind off him, yet.

Note: This happened before I got married, so no sin was committed...
