I went to a wild park in countryside
Alone, in the mid-autumn festival
Willow’s soft hair fluttered as usual
Ripe wild hawthorns fell in the soil
The last hair in green, falling beads of red
Caught the eyes of late autumn indeed
Quiet, my lonely festival with no carnival
I breathed the country air that was peaceful
I whispered when the moon rose tonight in full
I would think of you drifting on a moonlit canal

This is a beautiful well-written poem. Thank you for posting it.
Thank you Raymond for your encouraging comment on my work. Best wishes on the moon festival!
Tinges of sadness, being alone on the Mid-Autumn festival, yet there is pleasure being immersed in the peace and loveliness of nature. You are indeed not alone when you are in the embrace of nature. Another great piece, Cigeng! Thank you for sharing the beauty of hawthorns, willows and the full moon!
Thank you Kwai Chee for your beautiful comment. Happy Moon Festival!

This is so beautiful and gracious. I love your naming of specific foliage which will soon be dormant for winter but now seems to be welcoming you to share in the festival of their final growth before winter. You seem to sink into the natural settings which happen often in traditional Chinese poetry, but it's also a kind of homecoming since nature is our home. I have been spending as much time as I can taking solitary walks in local parks, and I meet and talk with other walkers, strangers who share the delight of nature, and we talk for awhile and feel that bonding that comes from sharing a common joy - as we are in these messages about autumn!
