some pieces of fallen leaves of last year
turned very silky like cicada's wings
kept well in a book
some pieces of fallen leaves of this year
are picked up by someone again
put in the book
the one who loves to collect the fallen leaves
must have been caught in the nostalgic feeling
what she cherishes isn't only a fallen leaf in a book …
I see artwork here. Thanks for sharing, and I enjoyed it.
I love that second line image of the book - pressed leaf becoming as delicate as a cicada's wing. Just the association of leaf and wing is richly poetic to me. When a poet discovers and shares such a complex and unexpected image, I am alert for more such poetic treasures from her! I like your concluding stanza in which you suggest emotional depths in the woman collecting the leaves. The deeper subject of nostalgia is only suggested because you don't know anymore about than we readers do. But just knowing there is this woman of such emotional range is satisfying. We won't intrude on her privacy, just admire it from a distance.
Leaves carry memories of their lifetime Waiting for another birth To be back on their mother tree.. Happy to know that you understood nature in the best way
the association of leaf and wing, the fallen leaves, emotional depths, the scene of a woman collecting leaves they are all richly poetic. very nice poem dear poetess.
the one who loves to collect the fallen leaves must have been caught in the nostalgic feeling Nice lines comparing the 'cicada's wings! ! Thank you Poet! !
