The Mist Poem by Lekë Loshi

The Mist

As I strode along the peevish road
I found myself looking for abode
But all I found was a sea of mist
And instantly, sharply it made me twist.

My love for you abounded
As I remember those innocent summers
Oh, my heart was filled with joy
When it was that you rejected me but softly

Oh, my soul was filled with angst
When it was that I told you heartily
How I loved you, it was so
And I even noticed you thought it partially
Even though, you kindly said no

And as I lurk in this sea of mist
My face blushes, I clench my fist

I face reality, I find myself lost

I begrudgingly contemplate the gist of it all
I love you, at my own cost
I suffer at my own loss
And as I contemplate
In this troubled sea of mist
I find my words null, and my thoughts brisk.
