Somewhere between a breath half-spoken
and a glance that no longer reached,
we unraveled like dusk dissolving into the sea,
soft, inevitable, without sound.
Your name, once a lantern in my throat,
dimmed into syllables with no home,
and in the air between us thickened,
heavy with words we chose not to say.
Not an ending, not a fracture,
just the quiet erosion of once and always,
leaving only the ghost of touch,
adrift in the hush of unfamiliar hands.
