The Moon's Lonely Delight Poem by DEEP DARK SOUL POET

The Moon's Lonely Delight

On this dark cold and lonely night
Overhead the full moon shines so bright
No bright stars to outshine tonight
To share with the moon's lonely delight.

The sun was in the grave of night
The moon powered with its lost-soul light
And as the wind sang in my ears
My head was filled with dreadful fears

I felt a dangerous pang of despair
That I will always be voyaging nowhere
Yesterday I felt like its all forever
But now it is clear it comes to me never.

With the clean velvet sky filling with dark cloud
And the moon covered with that enigmatic shroud
The heavens cry as the drops of rain fall to pay the toll
And so do my eyes, and down my cheek it will gently roll.

From where the mighty winds that have blown
There lies all that I have ever known
The years have seemed way too long
But not to worry, as they soon will be gone.

The road in the distance, is calling out my name
My eyes now burn bright, like a wondrous flame
longing to travel that mystical road in the distance
I dislodge my roots and am gone in an instant.
