The Morning Breeze, Thick With Scent Poem by Mohammad Younus

The Morning Breeze, Thick With Scent

The morning breeze, thick with the scent
of blossoms from my lord's rosegarden,
finds me motionless beneath an old minaret.
Above me, echoes of glorification resound,
arched by the vast expanse of creation,
stretching endlessly into the skies.
Roots intertwine beneath me,
grounding my being, pulling me closer
to their silent, ancient pulse.
My breath aligns with the rhythm of creation,
each inhale tethered to
the soft, divine whispers around me.

I feel lost in these echoes—
my false self, diminished by the divine music;
my true self, standing resilient through storms,
its branches reaching beyond sight.
Here, no illusory shadows linger,
yet the space overflows with grace—
music and light.
My gaze drifts over the sea
of worldly charms,
as I become part of it—unseen,
yet fully present.

Endless green silence.
The wisdom of the divine rises
from roots within, reaching toward open sky.
