The Nativity Scene Poem by james watkin

The Nativity Scene

Looking in on that fair scene
Matchless lit for grace
Not just some dumb shepherds; ox
Struck dumber of face;
Of Joseph's awing stood o'er
His wife; God's mother.

All flesh, man and animal
With the angelic
Close crowd round in spirit; to
What hearts warm hectic.
Receiving of its favour
With greatest honour.

Out of Time and Space; - above
Their benighted cells.
Aware the Eternal itself
A strawed trough did bare
Would lay down to set them free
Its life; and glory.
