The Nests Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

The Nests

Rating: 4.0

The nest

Unlike now that each kid
Goes to learn, forcibly
In "Garden" then "School"
And helped to
Bribe the ways through
To become a worker
Or one with pen, orders,
In the past trainers
Were from the nature…

The mothers gave birth and
Cleaned and with breasts
Gave the child milk and fed.

Sat flies on noses
And the lips,
And the eyes, hands and legs…

They carried sicknesses
Using their natural tools,
Antennas, palpuses.

And we learned to defend,
Immunising ourselves
By dividing bad fat
Or microbe, or virus,
Brave were blood cells
For fighting the mean guest.

Then, eagles, owls, all the birds
Made or found the right nests
On trees' branches
Or in holes, on mountains.

Today's life is asphalt,
Concrete and cement
We repeat, duplicate,
First to End, similar.

Bores me life
Of hiding in corners,
Of the hives' rooms, cubicles
With our minds, hands and eyes
Working with monitors, cellulars!
