The Next Move Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

The Next Move

I share the grief
But remain brief
Over the explanation
As I have no remedy for its elimination

Even God might be cursing
And rehearsing
The next move
To prove these people wrong

What belonged to people?
The land, faith or struggle
It was given as token gesture
To live peacefully for future

What did we do?
Drawn dividing lines to prove true
That we were ancient civilization
The Almighty had descended here o spread the religion

Even if we agree to arguments
Where else is need for displacements
Of poor people with bags and baggage
Why so much of bloodshed with hate and rage?

No one shall justify?
But we personally satisfy
Ego and false nationhood
That has been made not clear in neighborhood
