The Nighttime Poem by Kelly Boutin

The Nighttime

In the twilight
it's so quiet
because we're sleeping
and we're dreaming
of the nighttime,
the nighttime.

There's so much tenderness
in a gentle kiss
where the river flows
and gentle true love grows
in the nighttime,
the nighttime.

Oh, as the river
sings lullabies
and love songs,
I know that I belong
in your arms
in the nighttime,
oh, we are part
of the nighttime,
the nighttime.

All the stillness,
all around us
whispers to us
through the trees
and our eyes dance
in the starlight
to a lovesick melody
in the nighttime,
the nighttime.
