The Nocturnal Rose Poem by Hebert Logerie

The Nocturnal Rose

I am going to kiss this nocturnal rose
Which only opens her beautiful soul
Solely at night when it is absolutely very dark
This yellow flower at daylight
Fades away with the envy of a rebirth
At the first sound of the evening bells
When the biggest star comes into sight
In the evening to bring happiness and well-being
This colored rose is prettier, more ravishing
Than the rainbow of a Sunday afternoon
This is her, with her sweet and blessed kisses
Who charms and makes me dream until dawn
In the morning, leaving a suave essence on the pores
Of my hypnotized carcass, which dangles in the air
Like two satisfied lovers in the depths of a velvety lair
Oh! Oh! Darling, I'm going to sleep very well tonight
Yes, I am going to dream under the nitescence of hope.
