The Nostalgic Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

The Nostalgic

Rating: 5.0

Words composed turned
While thinking of you as unveiled
Flowers in day and stars in night
You were the sky and I was the sea
While sparkling bright reflected in me
You were the star and I was the sky
Shining day and night in my skies
You were the moon and I was the sky
Shimmering my pensive lone path to silvery
You were the lightning and I was the thunder
Illuminating me to roar and furor without fear
You were the rain and I was the cloud
As one together in harmony we stood
Bringing tears to our eyes
You were the bird and I was the wings
Together dreaming and flying
Storm, wind and tide all defying
You were the smile and I was the dimple
Beaming like a sun to cheer all from our love's pinnacle
You were the soul and I was the body
Heartening to live and love as one unto eternity
But as I gazed into the night sky and
Among fadeless flowers I searched
You were nowhere
Only my eyes were there and did flicker
While shedding tears
Filled with full of stars
Overhead was the starry sky
Bathed in the pale radiance of the moon shy
And I whispered into her passionate ears
"Oh dear, tell me to which sphere
My love has gone, for I wonder
Thou hast ceased to love me here"
Though I saw you here and there in the mirage of noon
For with your love I was over the moon
Despite this and that you are still my star
Will shine in my eyes forever
Birth after birth and birth
I may not own you with all my wealth
But only love as my all
One day may bring you and may be against your will
Shall make you love me in the end as words composed
Turned flowers in day and stars in night while thinking of you as unveiled
