Vo baithi hai bageechay ki paudion pe
dukhi hai vo
haddian us ki dard bhari hain

baheecha jo usko
bada achha lagta tha
us ko vo hara rakh rahi hai

kash k ek baar
vo aur guftgoo kar laitay
en khyalon main doobi hui hai

ab vo taron ka kambal hai
jin k neechay
vo ab soti hai

vo fridge k darvazzay par
us k notes
lagaey rakhti hai

ta k bhool na jaaey vo usko
jisaay jaanti thee vo ek baar
lakin chala gaya hai vo ab hamesha k liyay

The Notes He Left Behind

She sits on the garden steps with bones aching from grief.
Looking after the garden that
He loved so much.
Wishing they could have one last conversation.
Now he is the blanket of stars
That she sleeps under.
She keeps the notes that he left
On the fridge door, as a reminder of the man she once
Knew and lost.
