The Pastor And The Barber Poem by Randy McClave

The Pastor And The Barber

A Pastor walks into a Barbershop
Then for his haircut he sat down,
The Barber and the Pastor then started talking
Then the Barber formed a frown.
The Pastor was sitting for his haircut
Then the Barber and him began honestly speaking,
They were talking about sports and community
And telling what in life they were truly seeking.
While the Pastor was in the Barbershop
While the Barber was cutting the Pastor's hair,
The Barber then started another conversation with the Pastor
As the Pastor was in the Barber's chair.
The Barber kept on clipping and speaking
As he began cutting the Pastor's hair a bit faster,
Telling him what he knows and what he believes in
Then the Barber said, "So why do you want to be a Pastor".
The Pastor then said to the Barber
"Why do you believe that there is no God",
The Barber then said, "look at the world around us"
"It's a lie, and God is just a fraud".
The Barber then said, "if your God is true and real"
The Barber again then slowly said,
"Then why does bad things happen to good people"
As the Barber began trimming the hair on the Pastor's head.
The Pastor finally ends up leaving the Barbershop
He gave the Barber a smile and a very good tip,
Then as the Pastor steps outside the Shop
He knew soon he had to continue his evangelical trip.
The Pastor then sees a really hairy homeless guy
Sitting alone on a park bench,
He then taps the homeless guy on the shoulder
And he said, "come with me", and he did without a flinch.
The Pastor led the hairy homeless guy to the Barbershop
The Pastor then said, "Hey Barber! no such things as Barbers",
Then the Barber said to the Pastor, "what are you talking about"
If they existed this man wouldn't look like he came from the harbors.
"The problem isn't that I don't exist"!
Spoke the Barber to the Pastor honestly and free,
"The problem is why that homeless man is so hairy"
"It's because he never believed, or ever came to see me".
