The People Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

The People

The people

"The people" are disturbing factor
But carries no meaning in matter
Out life becomes hell later
As their criticism plays havoc after

Nobody is living in holding glass palace
But they consider as their birth-right for race
They try to be on forefront
And here we have to bear the brunt

"What will they think of us"?
Such fear creates mistrust
We are afraid of public wrath
And this sometimes leads to death

Many people commit suicide
As they are unable to decide
The matter becomes open and not in position to hide
They take it as person in stride

Such people are called coward
As they have no promising word
They not only sink themselves
But irresponsibly behave

What can we comment on such people?
Who dares for no struggle?
Take no challenge seriously
And surrender to circumstances easily
