The People Chose Poem by Randy McClave

The People Chose

He lied and he cheated and he conned
Unto sin he held a bond,
And he was greedy and he was involved in multiple crimes
Which he had committed multiple times.
Now it was the people's time to choose
One was going to win, and the other to lose,
Standing there was him and another without sin
One will lose and the other will win.
The people then voted and they jeered
They screamed out support as they cheered,
They already had a plan
As they supported their very corrupted man.
They didn't care of the sins that he had committed
Or what he had permitted,
He was the man that they cheered for and wanted
For that truthful fact they were undaunted.
He had committed multiple sins including insurrection
It was now the people's final selection,
There he stood next to the Lord Jesus
Then the people screamed, "Free Barabbas! "
