The Person That I Am Poem by Randy McClave

If I make a promise I will always keep it
That fact I and others will always admit,
My word and my promises are just like gold
Whenever they are given or told.
If I borrow a dollar I will always pay you back
Even if it means me going to red from black,
Before any other bills or debts that I pay
You'll be the first I pay off, I proudly will say.
If I say that I will be there I promise I will
Honesty is my very best and ultimate skill,
And if I say that I will give you a helping hand
By you I gave my promise and by that promise I will stand.
I will not cheat and I will not ever lie
That's a fact about me no one can or will ever deny,
And another fact that you or no one can doubt
To help a friend or family member I most certainly will do without.
If you need help I will be there by your side
From you I will never runaway or hide,
I don't and I won't prefer the wolf over the lamb
Because, that's the type of person that I am.
