The Philosophy Poem by Asit Kumar Sanyal

The Philosophy

A poor farmer was explaining me
his economics
In simple language
I asked a question interrupting him
how you manage your expenditure?
to balance your low income?
he replied with hearty laugh....
I devide my income in four parts
first part I spend for food and clothe,
second I save in a bowl,
third part I contribute for seniors
and fourth one I throw into well.

The answer was like a puzzle
I said, please explain me
it's not clear to me
he smiled and said,
1st and 2nd part very easy
needs no explanation,
the third one is little hazy
as I used the word ‘contribute'
third part I spend for my parents
for their health, welfare and pilgrimage
fourth one I throw in the well
means I spend and forget about it
it's the educational expenses for children
long term investment
that never comes back to father.

I surprised
and discovered the economics
of a poor farmer
mixed with different philosophy.
