The Pit Poem by Otha Gwabe

The Pit

Rating: 5.0

Wandering around as a child
Born with an innocent mind
Running about with energy
Looking with curiosity

The light of magic, bright
Can be blinding to sight
You didn't feel to care at all
Till the day of the great fall

When you wake to a new blinding
You see and find nothing
You look up and see what you fear
You're in deep and all but silence you hear

You feel the walls, slick
The air feels thick
Your chances are hopeless
Your fate sealed, for chosen

Where to go but nowhere
But just to stay down there
People laugh down the hole
The pain filling you whole

It's been years now and I see
That no one can help me
This is where I lie
And down here is where I die.
