The Truth And The Hidden Poem by Otha Gwabe

The Truth And The Hidden

Rating: 5.0

Sitting in classes,
Hiding in shadows,
Running fast, my being flashes,
Making sure I stay low…

I hope they don't see me,
Oh why am I here!
I wish I could flee!
The only thing I feel is fear.

Beaten up for no reason.
Is there a target on my back? !
All year is my hunting season…
For they keep finding my track.

Why do they do it!
Don't they see the blood!
I am shattering bit by bit!
Drowning in a dark flood.

I promise when I'm older,
That this time I'll be stronger,
I'll get to them before they find me,
I'll show the pain they made me see.

The day came and I did it!
I finally did it!
I finally made them the fools!
Finally put them in my shoes!

Let me show them for a few days,
Let me show them all my pain,
Show them how I wasted away,
Show them the feeling of heavy rain.

One day, they smiled,
A smile that ran wide.
I asked what was funny…
Their voice low and sunny.

"Don't you now understand,
Why I act like this,
On the same level we stand,
For we both fell in the abyss…"

I looked at myself now,
Fearful of what I've become.
I lower my head in a shameful bow,
Knowing that I am now dumb,

I understand fully,
Only after I had hurt them,
That from then being the victim
I am now the bully
