The Poet's Art Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

The Poet's Art

A Poem is good when it’s read by you,
Not once, ~ but many times more,
When the words of the Poet stick in your Mind,
To be re-read for evermore.

If the thoughts expressed by his poem today,
Jog memories in your Brain,
You’ll recall his poem once more,
When those memories surface again.

And when you tell others of your memory,
You’ll refer them to the poem bold,
For an ‘Aide Memoire’ it is for you,
So that your memories can be retold.

A successful poem must be accessible,
So that it can be read by all Mankind,
Whether published in books or on the Internet,
And be of a ‘thought provoking’ kind.

Come, fellow poets, write some more,
So our work will remain when we die,
To be read by others after us,
And let our words be forever cried.
