The Poet Yearning Poem by Greg Boatman

The Poet Yearning

Rating: 4.5

A poet I wish
A poet to be
For people to read
My poetry

And maybe to laugh
Or perhaps to cry
And maybe I'll be known
By and by

A poet I hope
A poet to be
The hope is strong
Burning within me

And maybe I will
Eventually
Be the poet
I long to be

Your poem is exquisite, the sing song rhythm is great! I sang it out loud and to me it sounded like a children's poem. Well written, Greg - keep on writing - maybe put them to music! I loved it! Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn

You are already a poet. This is well written. All you have to do is keep writing. There are more poems rolling around in your head just waiting to be put down on paper. I thought I would write two or three or five, but they just kept coming.

Faith Keeps Those Who Keep The Faith - MOTHER TERESA. I like the articulation and penning of the poem. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
