The Poets' League Poem by Hannington Mumo

The Poets' League

I belong to the blessed league of poets blessed,
Both those leading pensive lives and those diseased.
I belong to the club of Coleridge, Shakespeare and Holmes;
The blessed pens who flew to their eternal homes.

My ink resides with that of Marlow and Marvel,
And their enchanting tales continue to tell;
I know Bunyan is dead and gone
And this I pen to caress his remaining bone.

I belong to the league of great poets blessed,
Weaving long and winding verse at Muse's behest.
