The Praises Of Religion Poem by Francis Duggan

The Praises Of Religion

Rating: 5.0

Though some religious men are known to beat their wives
Religion it can bring hope to some poor people's lives
The praises of their God in their house of worship they sing
Religion when it makes people better people it is such a good thing
But when people their own twisted beliefs into their religious teachings read
To the most serious of crimes such negative thinking does lead
And though for their crimes against those different they may not feel the shame
For their horrible sins their God we should not blame
They suffer from what's known as darkness of the soul
And one ought not to blame their God for thought control
But if your love for your God makes a better person of you
And to your good higher self you do remain as true
Then that for you can only be a good thing
And the praises of religion you ought to sing.
