Not long ago, everything was dry
Because of the summer's heat.
Flowers faded,
And animals grew thirsty and thin;
So, too, did the people.
Life seemed gone.
We looked up to the heavens;
The sunny sky turned to clouds,
And the dark clouds gave us living rain—
The rain that brought life.
Now, we are in a winter of too much snow,
Unlike the beauty we once knew,
The beauty our colorless kids once cherished.
Ice is everywhere now,
Making the roads treacherous
And claiming lives in the bitter cold.
May the heavens give us rain once more
To clear the ice,
The ice must go
So that life may flourish again.
