The Protectors Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

The Protectors

“Hang them, hang them”
There public outcry
Fir stringent punishment
For what is happening at present

If we go by news report
The ladies have been caught
And their modesty is violated
They stand helpless as ill fated

What has changed?
Our social perception
Or legal profession
That rushes to save the culprits despite confession

What are we hearing?
Father is raping his own daughter
Neighbor is molesting minor girl
What type of this is going on with ugly turn?

There is high time to act
Before public reacts
And takes law into hand
It must be put to an end

The Protectors
