The Question Poem by James Royster

The Question

Rating: 0.5

What’s the point of life if there is no love?
What the point of religion if you don’t believe in a man above?

What’s the point of a house if you don’t have a home?
What’s the point of living if you live all alone?

What’s the point of sharing if there is no one there?
What’s the point of caring if life’s not fair?

What’s the point of loving if no one loves you back?
What’s the point of a heart if you can have a heart attack?

What’s the point of crying if no one sees your tears?
What’s the point of being afraid if no one understands your fears?

What’s the point of hoping in a world that is hopeless?
What’s the point of trying to be better if you know you’ll never be the best?

What’s the point of smiling if you’re surrounded by depression?
What’s the point of an economy if we can have a recession?

What’s the point of winning if someone has to lose?
What’s the point of investigating if you don’t have any clues?

What’s the point of love if we are always at war?
What’s the point of running if you can fall on the floor?

What’s the point of lying if everyone else was true?
What’s the point of me if there is no you?
