The Rain The Same One Poem by Palitha Ranatunge

The Rain The Same One

The rain, the same one
When sleep deep in my childhood
Embracing the pillow at my side
Covering whole body with a blanket,

The rain, the same one
When I cause my child to sleep
At the cot swaying it with
My melodies of love,

The rain, the same one
Feeble I lay, having no hope
In life and counting days
For the departure,

The soft greenery lit in sunlight
The fluttering of butterflies
With colors of tender spring
The meekness of a rabbit
And a squirrel who shres the light
Of life in the neighborhood,

Where are the mild soft
rain drops to whisper
My farewell at my departure
Lounge, offering the final
Contentment at the ultimate
Emancipation in a life.
