The Road Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

The Road

Rating: 5.0

I know not this road
Which looks glorious and gorgeous today,
It is indeed alien to me,
Though once it was my heart
And I used to play here with childish spirit and liveliness,
The loving dust of my friend is still clear and vivid in my memory,
That was the loveliest time of my life.
But time has been changed,
Dear dust is no more in its bosom,
Instead of it my beloved road stands here with a lifeless soul,
Though fabulously and magnificently dressed to match with the civilised world.
I feel its pain and I believe it too perceives my grief,
As I lie on my beloved friend with deep emotion,
I listen to its agonising cry,
Telling me to rescue it from the despairing and frustrating world.

Glorious and gorgeous today's road is known to you. Still you feel its pain and you believe it too perceives your grief, . But still we hope you will gain happiness and pain will go away. Brilliant and perceptive poem is well composed and shared.10
