I saw the robin redbreast
Fly out of a tiny nest
It was a small fledgling bird
Set out to conquer its universe.
The bird soared fearlessly into the sky
I happily watched this little guy,
Of course it was his maiden flight
That filled my heart with sheer delight.
As my eyes followed the lively bird
An unfortunate event suddenly occurred,
The little bird crashed against a huge billboard
It was of dashing Tom Cruise, I was told!
The bird fell down in a heap
From the heavens high and steep,
I searched for him everywhere around
But he was nowhere to be found.
So I took hope from the thought
Could the bird have escaped this knock?
My hope and fears both gained ground
As I rummaged for him all around.
Hence I thought of revisited the tree
From where the bird had sailed out with the breeze,
To find out if the bird had returned back to its nest
Instead what I found was a cute blue egg!
A beautiful poem from the eyes of bird watcher. The story is left incomplete, may be to be filled by the readers. Since nest was empty with no bird, that means if it was alive and if it could fly, t would have surely come. Beautiful presentation. Loved reading it.
It is always a pleasure watching a bird in flight! Besides robins are so cute! I wonder what happened to it when it crashed against the bill board! Hope it will come back to its nest to sit brooding over its egg! Enjoyed reading this lovely poem!
This is both harrowing and beautiful. You seem to be a good bird-watcher. I am worried what will now happen to that blue egg. God forbid; robin, please return to take care of it. Cruise has no business showing his might on your path. (10)

my favorite lines: (i DO enjoy good rhyming; you've got it) [but some places you did not rhyme; that's ok also! ] The bird fell down in a heap From the heavens high and steep, I searched for him everywhere around But he was nowhere to be found. and: My hope and fears both gained ground - - - - i think you 'want' revisiting in this line: Hence I thought of revisited the tree :) when i read tiny nest i wondered............. until i decided you were talking about a European Robin which has a smaller area covered with 'red' and a body half the length of the American Robin. but 'our' robins also lay blue eggs, a beautiful blue which i was able to see when i climbed to look into nests when i was a boy. nice storytelling. to MyPoemList; i 'love' birds. bri :)
