The Sailor Poem by Indresh Kumar

The Sailor

Five years art over
When I met my sailor
Who sailed my aimless boat
Towards life or a certain post
Which was missing in the past
That caused me to be aghast;
Honest is thy guide
For me it's a sense of pride
Thy heart is filled with love
For me thou art all above
Constructive is thy all advice
For thou art worldly-wise;
I owe all I've to thee
For thou made me that I wanted to be
If I found thee not to be my guide
I might move to some other side
So, let me thank for what thou did
Churning out all that remained in me hid.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This particular poem I wrote dedicating to the ever shining personality of my dearest teacher who played, no doubt, the role of a sailor for me.As a boat goes missing in the wide stretch of water, i.e. river or sea, without its sailor, so was I.I was also missing in this world in terms of having no particular aim, goal or destination when I was not in contact with my sailor.But as soon as my sailor came to me, he sailed the aimless boat i.e. me, towards some certain destination of life.As a result I could become worthy of living a respectable life.
