The Search Poem by SylvaOnyema (SUPER.T) Ubah

The Search

Rating: 4.5

Day after day, day after day
They rise in hopelessness
Wearing faces of bleakness
Watching the golden gate of Canaan

Weak after weak, weak after weak
Like an evaporated water
They walk in futility of societal snag
Dreams arrested, handcuffed
In the prison yard of search

Month after month, month after month
They stumble like falling stars
Into the abyss of want
Withering like dry leaves
Into the refuse bin of poverty

Year after year, year after year
They graduate into 'SAN'
Like tireless soldier ants
Combing corridors of labour in vain.
