The Ship Called Life Poem by Jean Mallette

The Ship Called Life

Rating: 5.0

A ship sailed out
Upon the Sea of Doubt
As the winds of the world tossed it about,
And noone could see
What the fate would be
For the souls on board
Who knew not the Lord.
As darkness now loomed,
All seemed doomed,
As hurricane winds
Crashed and consumed
The tiny vessel battered and torn;
Tossed about on the Sea of Forlorn.
And who was to care
For the lost out there?
Lost at sea,
They all would be,
Never the green earth
Again to see;
Never to know the light of day;
Never to know the righteous way;
But who was to care
For the lost out there?
Suddenly there stood
In the midst of the flood
The Savior to rescue
All that would-
All that would call upon His name-
Just simply call, for these He came.
But some were saved and some did drown-
Those who refused and turned Him down.
'I am the Way, the Truth, and the Light, '
This He called to them that night.
And some responded with delight
While others perished from His sight.
'Who can neglect so great salvation? '
This was His closing invitation,
But some remained and werenot saved;
They blindly chose a watery grave.
