The Small Garden
In the drizzle and mist-veiled trees I go,
An early morn visit, for autumn flowers.
Birds tweet and sing, by the quiet pond,
When sparrows in flying slant leafy twigs.
To live undisturbed- 'tis an oft-dreamed wish,
Only to wake to the mess and dirty dish...
Like the rootless duckweed we grow adrift,
In a strange land stay, and learn to forget.
