The So-Called Everyday Ordinary Joe Poem by Raymond Farrell

The So-Called Everyday Ordinary Joe

It was the barber, the baker
The butcher and cabinet maker
The so-called everyday ordinary Joe
About as ordinary as they go
They live on your street and mine
And they appear to be just fine
They sorted the clothes and shoes
Lined everyone up then gassed the Jews
Picked their teeth for gold
Piled the corpses young and old
When they did well they were promoted
If they disobeyed they were demoted
Someone said do as you're told and they did
The resulting horror was too great to be hid
So before we blindly follow someone's lead
Remember them, and let us take heed!

I have never and will never blindly follow orders. It has made me unpopular at best sometimes, but I can live with myself
