The Softly Brown Earth Lies Under Me Poem by Gert Strydom

The Softly Brown Earth Lies Under Me

The softly brown earth lies under me,
with the cool blue sky as the canopy
in which birds fly swirling,
forever free.

Your works my God, is filled with beauty
and in the mountains I see
the outline of the mountain, the rock
the sanctuary where I feel carefree.
