The Sombre Silence Of The Temple Pond Poem by Seema Jayaraman

The Sombre Silence Of The Temple Pond

Rating: 5.0

The temple pond
full of fresh water
this monsoon
once again ripples
with happy shouts of kids

submerged last year's
sombre silence
when a little one
was fished out
from its green depths

low whispers of mothers
remembering the ghastly hours
the howls of not knowing
now drowned by
the ringing of temple bells
