The Song Of The Brain Poem by Nathan Coppedge

The Song Of The Brain

Rating: 4.5

The tragedy is cast in a different light.

React, and cast off the shackles of time!

One who is complex has the greater life!

What is for the body is for the mind!

They say all of art is contrasting sublime.

And whips are horses made of living vines- -!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The six parts of the poem refer to the six major parts of the brain: the frontal lobe, temporal lobe, cerebrum, cerebellum, visual cortex, and hippocampus, in that order. The rhyme scheme is meant to bring the parts of the brain together in association. Each line represents the special knowledge of that part of the brain, as best I could imagine.
