The Songs Of Silence Poem by Mohabeer Beeharry

The Songs Of Silence

Rating: 5.0

A ray of light in the morning wakes me up.
From within closed windows and dark space
Inthrobbing ecstasy Life shivers
From a fount of unseen beauty.

The serenity has no word except for that eternal murmur
The breath of all creation, heralding the rise of the mighty sun
Gently, gently like the cool drip of honey!

I try hard to celebrate the renewal of this great will and fearless power,
The touch of fresh sunshine
The last vestige of the nightly scent
From the festivals of the queens of the night's indulgence!

As a poet I cling to the joys in the air
The flights and the songs of birds and the blue sky
This gentle sun glowing like golden tinsels
That subtly assemble the various threads of awakening life,
An intricate bundle of thriving wonders!

Nothing can be like the waking into this aura of mystic grandeur,
Nothing can compare with that joy of everlasting awakening
Stay quiet
Listen to the silence that hums
A sound of conch
The ringing of bells
The chirping of birds at vesper's
And ocean roars and thunder

They are all there, all wrapped up into an unceasing symphony,
The unspoken language of the eternal
The magic that sustains this brittle creation,
Not outside, but from into one's own heart,
The sounds of silence.

Listen,
You and me are children of these sounds,
We rise
And we fall in them
But we always come back
Because we are the eternal threads that bind God to his creation.
